December Favorites!
It’s Christmas time again!
I love Christmas.
L-O-V-E LOVE this time of year. So naturally, December is not even a month but an untouchable period of time for spending time with my favorite people doing my favorite things (see my favorite activities for this month, there were some good ones) and then a side of my actual responsibilities. *like school cough cough.* And I DID finish my first semester of college so that it SO exciting! Stay tuned for a roundup of my favorite things I learned from my favorite courses this year…coming soon.
Until then! Here are my favorites (mainly Christmas-related) of December!
activities
Christmas decorating — I had my first-ever college Christmas season! Christmas vibes are very different in California if only because of the weather, but I put up my mini tree in my dorm room and my advent calendar to be super festive and cute!
Christmas dinner @ school — every month my college has a themed dinner in the dining hall. Ethic cuisine night, Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner, breakfast for dinner, you name it, we have it all.
Boardwalk stroll — my friend and I took a break from finals studying to go on a walk along the beach boardwalk. It made me realize that I don’t go out enough this time of year to see the sunsets and I forgot how pretty they are! We found a restaurant and got some non-dining hall food which was very exciting. The Christmas vibes were very high, there were some trees on the beach and roller skaters playing Christmas music on their portable speakers as they raced by.
Coffee shop studying — I was just about the luckiest girl in the world this finals season because I only have two tests to study for! Even so, I grabbed my things, called an Uber, and went to study at my favorite coffee shop which is so Pinterest coded. I highly recommend spending an entire day doing this, being somewhere new and exciting helps to motivated and engaged!
Sunset walk with the girls — we went to see the last sunset before leaving to go home for the holidays. It was so gorgeous and a must needed little cardio sesh!
Cookie Day — it’s a longstanding tradition that my best friend’s family hosts Cookie Day for all of their closest friends and family. It’s literally what it sounds like — her mom makes about a hundred sugar cookies and we sit around decorating them with frosting and sprinkles for hours and have lunch and eventually tire ourselves out and watch a Christmas movie. One of my favorite activities every December!
Christmas Day! — The most wonderful time of the year! I am forever nostalgic for Christmas as a kid when it was just different. There was a kind of magic in the air that dissipates with age. Nevertheless, I love Christmas and will forever be searching for that feeling again.
BIG day at home — Day after Christmas I did all of the typical home-from-college things; I went to lunch with my friend Rebecca from high school, dropped in at my godparents’ house to see the fam and ended up going shopping with them (duh) and then my friend Gracie and I went to dinner at my new fave restaurant that’s inside the Gum Wall (so cool) and fun fact Gracie is committed to my school to be an incoming freshman next year!! So this is your sign to book yourself a BIG day and see all the people and try out a new restaurant and be SO exhausted when your head hits the pillow that night.
